How to use this checklist

Make It Yours

Start from these seven stages, then add the shots your state and your company require. Not every line applies to every system — skip the crawlspace items on a slab job.

Shoot As You Install

Work through it on your phone while the work is open. A suction pit can't be photographed once it's sealed. It all works offline in a basement or crawlspace.

Close Out the Job

Add the post-mitigation result when it comes back, then send the homeowner a link or a PDF. The record stays filed under the property.

Capture the condition, not just the component

This list is a documentation aid, not a statement of what any code requires — requirements vary by state and by the standard you work under. The goal of each shot is to record the installed condition with enough context that someone who wasn't there can understand it. That matters most at the discharge: see what to document at the exhaust termination, then how the full set becomes a radon mitigation closeout record.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It's a practical photo set for documenting an installation. What you're required to record depends on your state and the standards that govern your work — add or remove items to match.

Yes. The suction-system stage includes sump covers, sealed penetrations, and crawlspace membrane seams and sealing. Mark the lines that don't apply as N/A.

Yes. Build it as a photo checklist where an item isn't complete until its photo is taken, and every technician runs the same sequence. See the radon mitigation page for how it fits the whole job.
